Aston Villa considering a ‘blockbuster’ De Bruyne transfer after decisive decision on loan player
Aston Villa is prepared to part ways with a loan player and bring in Manchester City legend, Kevin De Bruyne, as his successor, while Fabrizio Romano has verified that the Belgian has an enticing offer currently available.
De Bruyne, 33, will depart from Man City at the end of his contract this summer. The renowned playmaker has no plans to retire and has previously expressed his astonishment at NOT receiving an extension offer from City.
"I haven't received any offers throughout the entire year; they simply made a decision," De Bruyne stated.
“Clearly, I was somewhat taken aback but I must simply accept it.” To be honest, I believe I can still compete at this level as I'm demonstrating, but I recognize that clubs must make their choices.
De Bruyne and his family are not interested in relocating to Saudi Arabia. Alternatively, a transfer to MLS is feasible, as is staying in a premier European league.
As per a new report from Football Insider, Aston Villa might provide De Bruyne the opportunity to seek revenge on Man City for not having more trust in the experienced player.
They report that De Bruyne is ‘drawn’ to the prospect of joining another Premier League team, and Villa is currently ‘considering a major deal.’
Unai Emery currently has numerous influential choices in attacking positions, but Leon Bailey has attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League, while Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio are both on loan.
Villa has the choice to purchase Rashford for £40 million. Asensio’s deal was a direct loan and lacks a provision to make the transfer permanent.
Asensio has impressed throughout his loan period, scoring eight goals in 17 games. Nonetheless, FI state Villa considers that acquiring De Bruyne for free is a wiser financial decision than arranging a transfer fee with PSG for Asensio.
Assisting Villa’s efforts to attract De Bruyne to the Midlands would be the achievement of Champions League qualification.
Villa are presently in seventh place in the standings, and finishing in fifth would be sufficient for UCL qualification.
De Bruyne has an enticing proposal from America
As noted, a transfer across the Atlantic is feasible, with Inter Miami possessing 'discovery rights' to the athlete. In simple terms, this indicates that Inter Miami has the initial option over other MLS teams.
Nonetheless, ESPN reports that Inter Miami's limit of designated players (high-profile athletes whose salaries do not affect the salary cap) is currently reached.
Both New York City FC and DC United have shown interest in De Bruyne. However, Fabrizio Romano states that the leading contender to acquire the playmaker, should he relocate to America, is Chicago Fire.
In his early Friday morning report on X, Romano stated: “Despite claims regarding Inter Miami, Chicago Fire continue to pursue signing Kevin De Bruyne as a free agent…”
Romano announced two weeks ago that Chicago Fire had reached out to De Bruyne. And with the team having room in their designated player roster, De Bruyne would be well compensated financially if he decides to make the transition.
