• In February, Marcus Rashford went on loan to Aston Villa.
• The academy graduate can choose to work for Villa full-time.
• Ruben Amorim sidelined Rashford at Man Utd.
After spending the remainder of the season on loan at Aston Villa, Marcus Rashford has reportedly ruled out ever playing for Manchester United again.
The United academy alumnus was in exile for the last seven weeks, not granted a single minute by Ruben Amorim, who included him in only one matchday squad since mid-December. Villa eventually provided Rashford with a way out of Old Trafford, signing him on loan for the rest of the season.
Amorim faced constant inquiries regarding Rashford, who was benched before the Manchester derby in December because of his conduct during training and off-field behavior. The Portuguese manager became more and more exasperated with the questioning and notoriously claimed that he preferred to field his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital over "a player who doesn't give their all every day."
According to The Guardian, Rashford is now "highly improbable" to participate in any competitive match for United again and has a "virtually damaged" relationship with his childhood club.
This position is reported to be separate from Amorim, as the senior management of United approved the decision to place Rashford on the market.
The Red Devils have barely prospered without their academy talent. United's disappointing 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday marked the club's fifth defeat in seven home matches under Amorim.
Should the Portuguese head coach - who has shattered all the unfavorable records - depart before the season concludes, Rashford is expected to adopt Jadon Sancho's method of rejoining United in pre-season prior to finalizing a transfer elsewhere.
Rashford interestingly characterized his time at Villa as "merely short-term," despite the club holding an option to purchase the 27-year-old for £40m. "I needed to select a place that suits my style of football, where I can assist them and also rediscover and enhance my skills as a player," he mentioned. "I wish to maximize my experience while I'm here."
