Everton fired Sean Dyche.

Just hours before their FA Cup third-round matchup with Peterborough, Everton disclosed that manager Sean Dyche had been fired.

In a stunning move, Everton Football Club has parted ways with manager Sean Dyche, leaving the Toffees searching for a new leader to steer them out of trouble. 

The decision comes amid a dismal run of form that has seen the Merseyside outfit struggle to find consistency. 

With just three victories from 19 games this season, Dyche, who joined Everton in January 2023, departs the team just one point above the relegation zone.

He recently recognized that his position was legitimately in danger and that the outcomes had not lived up to expectations. 

In his own words, "To be clear, it should be," "A succession plan should undoubtedly be a part of their diligence if you're a company this size and this club."

Dyche departs with Billy Mercer, Mark Howard, Steve Stone, and Ian Woan, the coaching staff. 

In the interim, Everton will delegate first-team responsibilities to club captain Seamus Coleman and Under-18 boss Leighton Baines, who will lead the Toffees in Thursday's FA Cup matchup against Peterborough. Everton has already started the process of finding a new manager.
