It has been reported that Serie A powerhouse Juventus is not considering Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, although Villarreal is interested in him.
The 26-year-old signed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge after joining Chelsea from Monaco in August 2023 for an estimated €45 million (£38.5 million).
Under former head coach Mauricio Pochettino, Disasi played 44 games across all competitions the previous season; however, under Enzo Maresca's direction, his playing time has decreased. To date, the Frenchman has only appeared in five Premier League games; instead, he has been more involved in the team's Conference League group stage matches.
Disasi, a natural center back who can also play right back, is anticipated to depart the Blues before the January transfer window closes, according to French daily L'Equipe. The player and the club have already agreed to a loan move.
According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, Juventus was reportedly among the teams mulling a move for the five-cap France international. However, Disasi is not the kind of player the multiple Scudetto winners are seeking.
The current Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen were connected to a move by French media at the conclusion of last year, while former Europa League winners Villarreal are touted as a possible escape route for Disasi.
Aston Villa has also been mentioned as a possible destination for Disasi, and if they can find a suitable replacement, Unai Emery's team is prepared to help Diego Carlos, who is connected to Fenerbahce, leave.
After finding out that Wesley Fofana might miss the remainder of the season due to injury, Chelsea recently brought up Trevoh Chalobah from a loan stint at Crystal Palace, which might push Disasi lower down a hierarchy that also includes academy graduate Josh Acheampong.
Benoit Badiashile is also out, although Chelsea's second primary center-back option, Levi Colwill, has started every Premier League match under Maresca following a protracted stint on Liverpool's transfer wishlist.
