According to a rumor, Real Madrid is starting to concede their January attempt to buy Trent Alexander-Arnold, a right-back for Liverpool.
Although Alexander-Arnold is currently a free agent and Madrid's top target for the summer transfer window, the Spanish team attempted to address their defensive injury crisis earlier this month by making a low-cost acquisition.
Relevo claims that the likelihood of another offer being made is extremely low, with Madrid acknowledging that a January switch will be too difficult to execute.
In addition to Liverpool's refusal to consider selling Alexander-Arnold while they are vying for the Premier League title, the right-back has also vowed not to force an exit from his boyhood club. Liverpool rejected the advances almost immediately, leaving Madrid considering another bid.
Since no one at Anfield is willing to hear Madrid's offers, a January transfer has all but been ruled out because Alexander-Arnold also feels that a mid-season move to Spain is not the best course of action for his future.
Carlo Ancelotti, who reportedly had a backroom argument with the club's management over their unwillingness to make an investment in the team this month, will not be pleased by the news that Madrid was unable to sign Alexander-Arnold.
Lucas Vazquez is the only recognized right-back in the squad due to Dani Carvajal's chronic injury, and Ancelotti has started to acknowledge that there won't be any additions before the summer.
